Winter season is hot drinks season. If you are tired of hot chocolate, chai latte or mulled wine, try a Matcha Latte. It is decadent yet not overly sweet and all the antioxidants in the Matcha tea will give you a welcome boost during gloomy winter days.
For one cup you’ll need:
- 1 teaspoon of very good quality Japanese Matcha tea (the better the quality, the better the drink will taste and the more beneficial it will be for you)
- 1-1 ½ teaspoon sugar
- a little splash of cream
- 175 ml whole milk
Bring the milk up to the boil in a small saucepan. Meanwhile, whisk the Matcha powder and sugar in your serving cup until combined. Add a splash of cream and whisk until you get a thick, smooth paste without any lumps. Water would also be possible but the drink will be slightly less creamy and more importantly it is more difficult to get rid of the lumps.
Once the milk is hot pour it over your Matcha cream. Et voilà, it’s already done. Enjoy!
